This bowl made from a gourd with tiny beads set into beeswax one by one. It is called a jicara and is offered up to the gods to ask for their blessings. The deer spirit guide are surrounding the sacred peyote in the center. 

Made in Nayarit by the Huichol Indians.

The Huichol Indians are a proud indigenous people found in the Sierra Madre regions of Nayarit and Jalisco. They have no written language and communicate with the spirit world through symbols and rituals .The yarn paintings reflect the Huichol culture and their sacred traditions and beliefs.
